AFF Cup 2024 STY Still Looking for the Best Composition

COACH of the Indonesian national team Shin Tae-yong (STY) said they were still looking for the best composition in the event 2024 AFF Cup. Because of this, potential changes will still be made in Indonesia’s second match against Laos.

The Indonesian national team hosts Laos in the second match of Group B. Duel Indonesia vs Laos will take place at Manahan Stadium Solo, Central Java, Thursday (12/12) evening at 20.00 WIB.

In the first match against Myanmar, STY experimented by placing a number of players in different positions.

Pratama Arhan, who usually operates in the left wing defender position, was switched to the right, Donny Tri Pamungkas was installed as one of the center defenders, until Asnawi Mangkualam in left position.

“The position that should be on the left (must) be able to play also on the right and vice versa is the same. I am looking for the best options and ways so that our team can show a good performance,” said STY in a press conference session, Wednesday (11/12) .

“Sometimes it is also necessary to change tactics, formations or certain positions,” added the South Korean tactician.

Against Laos, STY is open to the possibility of rotating even though according to him there are not many compositions that can be replaced. According to him, the players experienced fatigue with a busy schedule.

“This is our first home match and yesterday in Myanmar we won 1-0 but the players are currently very tired. However, we will try to be better against Laos even though we only trained for one day,” said STY.

Meanwhile, Laos came with big ambitions to steal points in Solo. The coach Ha Hyeuk-jun predicts that the match will not be easy even though Indonesia fielded a young squad. Moreover, the fitness factor will have an influence due to the short schedule. (M-3)
