Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami routinely visits various refugee camps in various sub-districts affected by the disaster. On Wednesday (11/12), he visited the evacuation post at SDN Kalibunder Neglasari Village, Purabaya District and in the field around the Lembursawah Village office, Pabuaran District.
“We want to ensure that the refugees’ various needs are met,” he stressed.
He ensured that at every refugee post public kitchen services and health services were available. The regional government is also preparing trauma recovery services for children.
“Thank God, so far the refugees have been well conditioned. Their various needs have been met with various emergency facilities,” emphasized Marwan.
Various aids continue to arrive from various elements of society inside and outside Sukabumi. Therefore, logistical needs in the form of clothing and food are guaranteed not to be lacking.
“All elements are involved in handling the post-disaster. Including the apparatus at the regional level, they are very optimal in handling post-disaster handling. In Pabuaran District, for example, community assistance and the role of the apparatus is more than optimal,” he stressed.
Apart from visiting evacuation posts, Marwan also reviewed a number of locations affected by the disaster. Among them are in Jampangtengah to Sagaranten Districts.
He said that the massive wet hydrometeorological disaster that occurred in 39 sub-districts in Sukabumi Regency should be a lesson for future study. Mainly related to risk management to the concept of food security in each region.
“Including the concept of food security, it is necessary to optimize each region so that logistics shortages are not disrupted when a disaster occurs. So, when logistics distribution is hampered due to cut off access, the community can take advantage of the food security that exists in that region,” he concluded.
The latest temporary data shows that the impact of the disaster in Sukabumi Regency occurred in 184 villages in 39 sub-districts. A total of 1,068 heads of families or 3,464 people were affected.

The disaster also resulted in 2,058 houses being lightly damaged, 1,829 houses being moderately damaged, 1,605 houses being heavily damaged, and 674 houses being in a threatened condition.
