Provincial Government (Pemprov) DKI Jakarta committed to setting Minimum wage Sectoral (UMS) provinces in 2025 as soon as possible or before January 1 2025.
“Because it needs to be implemented as of January 1 2025, we are continuing to work. Hopefully it will be implemented as soon as January 1,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy (Nakertransgi) Service, Hari Nugroho in Jakarta, Wednesday.
He said the provincial UMS is different from the Provincial Minimum Wage both in terms of the amount and details.
“Indeed, the details are different. Sector wages have figures. If… UMP there’s only one,” he explained.
On the other hand, employers and workers have not agreed on specific sectors where wages will be determined. Entrepreneurs for the 2025 provincial UMS proposed five sectors, namely automotive and chemicals, information and communications, wholesale and retail trade, financial services, construction and real estate.
Meanwhile, workers proposed that 13 sectors should be included in the 2025 provincial UMS, namely construction; chemical, energy and mining; metals, electronics and machinery; automotive; insurance and banking; eat and drink; pharmacy and health; textiles, clothing and leather; tourist; telecommunication; retail; electricity and transportation.
UMS is different from UMP in that it is relatively quicker to agree on the amount. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set the 2025 UMP to increase by 6.5% compared to last year, from IDR 5,067,381 to IDR 5,396,760.
“From the businessman’s perspective, it’s a bit of a heavy burden, but because there’s an agreement, the union isn’t demanding too much. Yes, it’s clear,” said Hari.
Previously, the Government, through the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli, required that the 2025 UMP and 2025 UMS be determined by a Governor’s Decree and announced no later than December 11 2025.
Then, regarding the amount of the UMS, it refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 2024 concerning Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2025, which must be higher than the UMP.
