Chairman PSSI Erick Thohir announced that the total funding allocated for 2025 will reach IDR 665 billion. This funding aims to support the development of various PSSI programs and the Indonesian national team (Timnas) in an effort to improve football performance in the country.
Of the total budget, around IDR 438 billion was obtained through collaboration with sponsors, media rights, ticket sales, merchandise and other funding sources. Apart from that, PSSI has received a commitment from the government which was conveyed directly by the President Prabowo Subianto as much as IDR 227 billion.
“We express our deep gratitude to the government, especially President Prabowo, who pays great attention to Indonesian football so that it continues to excel, sponsors and the media, as well as all parties who have provided support and assistance in efforts to transform football in Indonesia,” he said .
Erick added that the budget allocation will be used for the National Team program in 2025 which is estimated to reach around IDR 350 billion and the remainder for other programs at PSSI. The national team budget will be allocated for the preparation of several teams, such as the Senior, U-23, U-20 and U-17 national teams which will compete in the 2025 Asian Cup and the Senior National Team for the World Cup Qualifications, including a long-term TC program for the women’s national team to senior and junior categories.
However, this budget requirement does not include the National Futsal Team and National Beach Ball Team programs. “We are aware that this budget may not be comparable to that of countries such as Japan or Saudi. However, we agreed to make the best use of these funds. We have seen real results that almost all age groups of the National Team managed to qualify for the Cup Asia,” said Erick Thohir.
It is hoped that with this funding, PSSI can continue to innovate and improve the quality of existing programs to prepare the Indonesian National Team to compete on the international stage. (RO/Z-2)
