Coordinating MINISTER for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra revealed that there are three countries that have submitted requests to transfer prisoners from Indonesia. He targets the transfer process to be completed before the celebration Christmas.
“God willing, in the not too distant future and by December, hopefully everything will be finished. Even before Christmas, hopefully it will be finished,” said Yusril, at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday (13/12).
Yusril explained that three countries submitted requests for detention, namely Philippines, AustraliaAnd French. Yusril said the process with the Philippines and Australia is almost complete.
“We have achieved a lot of progress in this matter. Negotiations with Australia and the Philippines are final, they have been signed,” he explained.
Even so, Yusril said there were a number of problems in the negotiation process with Australia. He targets that the problem will be resolved in the near future.
“But of course there are a number of problems within Australia that must be resolved first. “So this issue can be said at the government level with the Philippines it is final, with Australia it is in process,” he explained.
Meanwhile, with France, Yusril revealed that it was still in the stage of further analysis by the Indonesian government. Including coordination with the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and the National Police.
“Hopefully by December everything will be finished and several other countries such as France and also several other countries have submitted applications, we have studied them and we are analyzing one by one whether they need to be granted or not,” he concluded. (Bob/I-2)
