CASE of corruption allegedly committed by the suspect Harun Masiku must be thoroughly investigated. Corruption Eradication Commission (Corruption Eradication Commission) also needs to immediately arrest the former PDI-P legislative candidate.
“Harun Masiku has been a fugitive for almost 5 years, until now he has not been arrested. I think the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) must take firm and productive steps,” said Muhammadiyah Youth Secretary General Najih Prastiyo, Saturday (14/12).
According to her, fugitive like Harun Masiku can weaken the supremacy of law. “In my opinion, Masiku’s arrest is necessary to uphold justice and to show that the law applies to everyone without exception. If he is not arrested immediately, this case could disrupt political stability,” said Najih.
He believes that the Harun Masiku case has recently emerged again in public. Former politician PDIP Maruarar Sirait even held a competition to catch Masiku and will receive a prize of IDR 8 billion.
Najih suspects that there are parties who continue to try to obstruct the legal process against Masiku. He also asked anti-corruption agencies and legal officials to take action against anyone who obstructs the legal process in accordance with applicable regulations. “I suspect that there are parties who continue to try to obstruct this legal process. Persons like this must be dealt with, in accordance with the instructions of Article 221 of the Criminal Code.”
Najih also called on PDIP cadres not to protect Masiku. More than that, he also immediately tried PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, who was also considered to be involved in the alleged bribery case.
“In fact, I want to ask PDIP not to be afraid to fire Pak Hasto. I think his presence in PDIP now is no longer productive, instead it makes him noisy every day. “This threatens the existence of the party itself,” he said.
Meanwhile, former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo Harahap assessed that the investigation of former Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H Laoly regarding the bribery case that ensnared fugitive Harun Masiku was considered to have no political nuances.
It is believed that the KPK did not take any careless actions because Yasonna is an experienced official in the legal sector. He believes that Yasonna’s summons is not related to Hasto Kristiyanto’s examination in the Harun case.
Investigators are believed to have obtained new information to ask the DPR member. “So of course the investigator already has material or question material as a witness,” said Yudi.
Previously, the KPK rescheduled the examination of Yasonna for Wednesday (18/12). This was done because Yasonna did not appear at the summons for examination on Friday (13/12).
“The person concerned informed investigators that he could not attend because he had other previously scheduled agendas,” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika.
He said that the summons for Yasonna was related to the investigation into alleged corruption for the KPK suspect who is still at large, namely Harun Masiku. “Regarding the appointment of Harun Masiku, the determination of the elected DPR RI members for 2019-2024 was carried out by the suspect Harun Masiku together with Saiful Bahri. So the basis for the summons is the investigation warrant that I mentioned earlier,” he stressed.
Harun Masiku was named by the Corruption Eradication Commission as a suspect in the case of allegedly giving gifts or promises to state officials related to the determination of candidates for elected DPR RI members for the 2019-2024 period.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) also published Harun Masiku’s latest wanted list (DPO), which displays the latest photos of the fugitive in the corruption case. The latest DPO displays four new photos of Harun with the characteristics of a height of around 172 cm with the special characteristics of wearing glasses, thin, nasal voice with a Toraja or Bugis accent.
