CHAIRMAN of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Corruption Eradication Commission) Setyo Budiyanto said that he and the newly appointed leadership would carry out an evaluation of unresolved cases.
“Yes, of course we will evaluate later, we will sit together with the Deputy for Enforcement, we will adjust which ones we should prioritize, which ones are stalled, which ones are stuck, which ones are on the priority scale,” said Setyo after being inaugurated at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (16/12).
Setyo admitted that he would review and evaluate not only unresolved cases but also the performance of KPK employees. “We will evaluate everything about what has been done and what hasn’t been done. We will definitely see what we have left behind. Later there will be a handover from the old officials to the new ones,” he stressed.
“Later we will review everything and that is of course the responsibility of the new leadership,” added Setyo.
Not only that, Setyo admitted that he would continue sting operation (OTT) because the Corruption Eradication Committee has the authority to wiretapping.
“Yes, we have said several times that one of the Corruption Eradication Commission’s authorities is that it can carry out wiretapping. What’s the point (not OTT if we can wiretapping)? For example, if we have the authority to wiretapping, then we don’t carry out OTT, that’s one of a series of activities, right? ,” he added. (J-2)
