Me
Three Print:
With its first issue appearing in Winter 2005, Me Three entered the
exciting and often frightening world of print. The majority
of content in the print journal is fiction, however we also feature
two or three works of nonfiction per issue, and we are committed publishing
at least one work of serious literary criticism in each time around.
We strive to provide a venue for shorter short stories: Most fiction
in the print journal runs under 3,000 words. Furthermore, we believe
strongly that serious fiction can and should appear alongside more
lighthearted writing. Just because something is serious, doesn't mean
it can't have a sense of humor. Conversely, silly things can have
a serious side. It is our goal to feature both in each issue.
You
can find more info on the print journal here
(where you can also BUY ONE)!
As
of now, the journal is publishing twice per year (keep an eye out
for the next issue in the Spring of 2006).
Me
Three Web:
The Me Three website was created in 2003 by Sarah
Stodola, a writer living in New York City. The idea was born
a bit earlier, in the summer of 2001, at the Greenpoint Tavern in
Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Sometime later in 2003, Mark Grueter
joined the "staff" as Managing Editor, and then in 2005,
Darren Kaminsky and Steve Finbow arrived, completing the Me Three
picture we know and love today.
The
mission of the site is really quite simple: to feature good writing.
In addition, we wish to use the site to express and satisfy our own
intellectual curiosities, which we feel are often underrepresented
in other online publications. What this means is that although
we appreciate humor and snark and satire, and even occasionally publish
these things on the site, what we really value are smart,
progressive, well thought-out ideas. Really, we publish anything,
as long as it makes us think or feel something.
