A
Note on Length: We have a slight aversion to overly lengthy
pieces. And as a matter of fact, there are two specific lengths
of work we are looking for:
-The
first is the more traditional length: anywhere from 1000-4000 words.
We will approach anything longer than this with extreme wariness.
-The second is the short length: anything that can fit into just
one journal page, which generally means anywhere from 10 to 300
words.
A
Note on Content: We publish both fiction and nonfiction.
We like our fiction to be a bit experimental, but not to the point
that it is no longer recognizable as fiction. We like our nonfiction
to be critical and not time-sensitive. We also like personal
essays, but we usually don't like it when they are about romace and
broken hearts and stuff. Taking a look at previous issues will
help you get a feel for the type of work we are looking for.
You can order back issues here.
Technical
Notes: Please send submissions AS A WORD ATTACHMENT,
not within the text of the email, to printsubmissions
at methree dot net. And for the love of literature, include
your name and email in the file. And please
send only one submission at a time. Choose your best
piece and send it to us.
A
Note on Simultaneous Submissions: We accept them, but we
ask that you notify us immediately if your submission is accepted
elsewhere. Conversely, we also require that if we accept your
work, you withdraw it from consideration at all other publications
to which it has been submitted.
A
Note on Rights: If we accept your work, Me Three will acquire
first publication rights, which means that after publication, you
are free to do what you will with the piece. However, we do
request that you wait six months after publication in Me Three before
allowing your work to be published elsewhere, and if it is published
elsewhere, we request that you credit Me Three as the original publisher.
A
Note on How Slow We Can Be: We do most of our submission-reading
when we are gearing up to publish an issue. Therefore, if you
submit just after a new issue has been released, please understand
that it might take us a great while to respond, although that great
while generally will not extend past six months.

WEB
SUBMISSIONS
We
are at the present specifically seeking submissions in the following
areas:
-Short
Fiction
-Personal Essays
-Book Reviews
-Foreign Politics
-Cultural and Literary Criticism
We
are at the present specifically not seeking submissions
in the following areas:
-Poetry
-Humor (unless that humor is part of a well rounded and meaningful
piece of work)
Please
send web submissions to submissions@methree.net.
We
accept both fiction and nonfiction, and in both cases, we ask that
you keep submissions under 1500 words (if it's longer, why not give
the print issue a shot). In fact, we'd predict that your chances
of having your work accepted for the website lie in inverse proportion
to the number of words your piece contains. If you have an idea
for a piece that runs over 1500 words, please query first.
We
do accept simultaneous submissions. However, we ask that you
notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
We
prefer submissions to be sent as a Word attachment, and for pete's
sake put your name and email in the file.
Please
peruse Me Three before submitting in order to gain an understanding
of the kind of content we are looking for.
If
your piece is accepted, Me Three will acquire first publication
rights. All other rights remain with the author.
