PERSEBAYA Surabaya is getting stronger at the top of the League 1 standings following a 4-1 victory when they hosted Persik Kediri at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Wednesday (11/12).
Persebaya scored a quick goal through Mohammed Rashid’s rocket kick after only three minutes of the game. Finishing Rashid from outside the penalty box failed to be blocked by Leonardo Navacchio, the Persik goalkeeper.
Only 3 minutes later, Persebaya managed to double the score to 2-0 through Francisco Rivera’s kick. The player from Mexico successfully tricked the Persik goalkeeper.
In the eighth minute, it was Muhammad Kasim Botan’s turn to add to the score. The player who filled in for Bruno Moreira, who was absent from serving a red card, managed to take advantage of the ball thrown in front of Persik’s goal and scored a goal.
Three goals ahead, Persebaya played more freely. The Bajul Ijo squad continued to press Persik’s defense area. However, this time the team from Kediri was more alert in repelling the opponent’s attacks.
Moving on to the 23rd minute, Persik was able to reduce the deficit through Ramiro Ezequiel Fergonzi’s finishing shot via a corner kick. Fergonzi’s goal changed the temporary score to 3-1.
