PAIR OF Elected Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua, Benhur Tomi Mano – Yermias Bisai (BTM-YB) officially held their first press statement, taking place in the courtyard of the DPD PDIP Papua Province office, Saturday (14/12) evening.
In front of the press, Benhur Tomi Mano (BTM) who was accompanied by Yermias Bisai (YB) and the administrators of the PDIP and PKN parties as supporting and supporting parties, expressed his appreciation to the organizers, namely the KPU and Bawaslu, as well as all parties who had supported the democratic party for the gubernatorial election by relatively safe and smooth.
“Especially all the Papuan people who have exercised their right to vote in this democratic party. Thank you to our supporters. This victory is a victory for the people and a Christmas gift for Papua,” explained BTM.
BTM stated that the regional election moment is not only an occasion for political work, but also a service to society and not just a search for power.
He admitted that although his party found a number of problems, especially in the recapitulation process in a number of regions in Papua, it could be said that overall the regional elections in Papua were peaceful.
“As we are aware, it is not without challenges. There are several important notes that are of concern, especially in the recapitulation of votes in several districts and cities. In essence, thank you to the KPU Papua which this morning has approved the entire recapitulation of votes for the 2024 Papua Gubernatorial Election, with the final results that the BTM-YB pair got the most votes,” he said.
“This victory is a victory for the Papuan people. PDIP and PKN are only administrative symbols. This victory is a Christmas gift for all Papuan people,” he continued.
BTM also invites all elements of society to work together to maintain security and respect the current, ongoing and future processes. “This victory was born purely from the aspirations of the Papuan people who want change and justice,” he concluded.
In the same place, the chairman of the Nusantara Justice Party (PKN), Constant Oktemka, welcomed the results which he said had been predicted from the start.
Likewise, the Secretariat of the DPD PDIP Papua, Surya Ibrahim, said that success was not due to the greatness of the PDIP, PKN teams and volunteers. “But all the Papuan people are struggling with existing limitations and realizing that hope,” said Surya.
He also said that a small, solid group with measured and planned steps was the key to success. (N-2)
