City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). BengkuluBengkulu Province, prohibits tourists from bathing in Long Beach which is in Ratu Samban District, during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays due to extreme weather.
The Chief Executive (Kalaksa) of the Bengkulu City BPBD, Willhopi asked tourists to comply with this advice. “The risk of accidents increases due to extreme weather which is expected to hit at the end of this year,” he said.
BPBD, he continued, will continue to monitor tourist areas and deploy personnel to ensure the safety of visitors. Apart from that, BPBD has set up a security post at Panjang Beach to monitor tourist activities.
BPBD will continue to monitor this tourist area and place personnel in the field to ensure that all visitors comply with the safety protocols that have been established.
“With the security posts prepared, it is hoped that tourists can spend their holidays in peace without having to worry about the risk of accidents,” he added.
During the Christmas holiday, he said, BPBD continued to coordinate with various related agencies to ensure security measures were running well.
Awareness and proper preventative action can ensure this year-end holiday is safe and enjoyable for everyone who visits Long Beach. (N-2)
